The research lecturers of the Physics/Applied Physics Department conduct research involving optical communications hardware and components. Research is carried out in the PhLAM (Physics of Lasers, Atoms and Molecules) Laboratory by the photonic and non-linear dynamics teams.
The research activities of the Department's research lecturers can be grouped into two main themes:
- modeling, synthesis and characterization of micro-structured optical fiber (production and study of new materials, particularly sol-gels)
- theoretical and experimental study of circuits comprised of submicronic guides for telecommunications optics.
